The Ondo state chapter of The Mandate Movement (TMM) has been formally inaugurated.
At the event that took place in Akure on Sunday, the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is better structured to win the November 16 2024 governorship election with a landslide margin.
Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor acknowledge the role of the Mandate Movement in entrenching progressive politics in southwest Nigeria.
According to him, “TMM is one of the strongest political movements in Nigeria. When the chairman was speaking , I did a quick reflection on how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has carried the progressive platform to an enviable height and today he is not only a leader of the Yoruba nation but an African leader of repute.
“It gives me joy that the Mandate Movement has come to Ondo state to top up what the APC has been doing, in terms of canvassing for votes. We’re expecting nothing less than 80 percent and with your involvement and cooperation, I’m sure this will be achieved”
Performing the official inauguration, national chairman of TMM, Cardinal James Odunbaku, disclosed that the mandate of the group is to produce governors under the platform of the APC for the entire southwest states.
“We already have Ondo, Lagos, Ogun and Ekiti states in the league of the progressives. I want to say, without any doubt, that Osun and Oyo states will soon join us, because the entire southwest must be progressive as it has always been from time”, Odunbaku assured.
He said the mandate for Ondo state is to deliver overwhelming votes for the APC so as to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
On his part, Ondo state APC chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, represented by Aro Bernard, thanked the national chairman and his team for strengthening the mandate movement and positioning it to achieve the best results.
In his remarks, Ondo state chairman of TMM, Omofunmilewa Adejombo, assured the national chairman of efficient coordination of the Ondo state chapter of the group that will lead to victory for the APC in November.
