Leaders of the All progressives Congress APC in Oyo state and Students of tertiary institution under the aegis of Federation of Ibadan Student Union FIBSU has commended Hon Dapo Lam Adesina , a Federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North East, South East Federal constituency for his consistent support for youths in Ibadan.
Hon Dapo, the son of a progressive leader and former governor of Oyo State Alhaji Lam Adesina was also described as a core progressives who is working according to the dictates and philosophy of the real progressive which is taking education and welfare of the people as topmost priority
These were some of the submissions of some of the party leaders at the second edition of omo oloore educational scheme, a scholarship award program organized in conjuction with Federation of Ibadan Student Union ( FIBSU) in honour of his late father, Alhaji Lam Adesina.
APC state secretary, Comrade Mojeed Olaoya in his remark said, ‘the Lawmaker is fulfilling his electioneering campaign promises, just like his father use to do when he was alive , we are not amazed because it is expected of him and we are proud of him”.
Also Dr. Kola Balogun, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he was not surprised with the gesture of the former commissioner. He said he has been watching him keenly for long. “I knew his father. He was one of the few progressives who practiced what they preached. I was surprised the day he came to visit me, uninvited. I was humbled.
Mr Ademola Alabi, the Public Relation officers of the Central Council of Ibadan indigenes CCII also hailed the lawmaker for his passion towards creating a better future for the younger generations especially the youth through his numerous support programm and scholarship award for students
He however advise the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money and ensure that emulate Hon Dapo so that they can also do such things for the younger generations
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Olajire Mohammed and Latifah Ibitoye said that they were grateful, adding that they would cherish the gesture eternally.
In his response, Hon Dapo said the gesture was one his ways of giving back to the society.
“This is the second time we will be organising this. I am resolute in my quest to make sure I deliver the promises I made. About two times, I came to you to solicit votes. I promised to set up an educational scheme. I promised that many of you will benefit from the scheme. I am very sure that we are transparent enough in the selection of beneficiaries. I can assure you that those who are yet to benefit will also be considered in the future.”
Other dignitaries at the event includes mother of the lawmaker, Alhaja Sarat Adesina, Jonathan Ogundiwin, Teslim Ajimobi, Prince Gbade Lana,Hon. Sakiru Fajinmi, Engr. Kayode Arowolo and others.
