The All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Forum in Ibarapa zone, under the aegis of G9, has formally endorsed Hon. Aderemi Oseni as the most competent and suitable aspirant for the Oyo State governorship seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during a strategic meeting held in Eruwa, Ibarapa East Local Government Area, where the G9 presented Oseni to the G64, an expanded leadership caucus of the APC in the zone. The G9 comprises prominent party leaders from Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central, and Ibarapa North local government areas.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the G9 and elder statesman, Chief Timothy Alarape Jolaoso, described the endorsement as the outcome of extensive political consultations, grassroots feedback, and strategic evaluations. He stated that Oseni emerged as the party’s best chance for victory in the 2027 gubernatorial contest.
“Oseni stands out among all potential contenders within the party. Political intelligence, media analyses, and public opinion consistently highlight his acceptability, credibility, and broad support base,” Jolaoso said.
He praised the lawmaker’s track record, describing him as a man of faith, empathy, and vision. “His visible achievements as the representative of Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency and as Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) speak volumes. He has the financial strength, grassroots network, and integrity required to govern Oyo State effectively,” the nonagenarian added.
In his response, Hon. Aderemi Oseni expressed gratitude for the endorsement, describing it as a divine call to serve.
“I am deeply humbled by this show of confidence. This is not about personal glory but about a sacred responsibility to deliver real development and inclusive governance to the people of Oyo State,” he said.
Oseni pledged to uphold the trust reposed in him and affirmed that his ambition is rooted in progressive values and a deep commitment to the people’s welfare.
