Another prominent Ogbomoso Son and Icon in the academic sector Professor Alex Adegboyega is dead
The details of his death is scanty as at the time of filing this report but family source confirm his demise.
Adegboyega a former Head of Political Science Department University of Ibadan was born September 21 1946, Ogbomoso, Oyo state
He attended Dzodze Teachers’ Training College, 1963-67, University of Ghana, 1966-72, University of Ibadan, 1973-75
He was appointed Junnior Research Fellow, Institute of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, lle-Ife, 1975-76; Lecturer II, University of Ibadan, 1976; Lecturer I, UI, 1978 and Senior Lecturer since 1981;
Adegboyega became Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellow, Institute of Local Government Studies; University of Birmingham, 1982-83; member, Nigerian Political Science Association member, America Society of Public Administration; Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU UI branch)
During his life time he was a committed Ogbomoso indigene and member of Ogbomoso Ajilete Club, Ogbomoso Pivotal Club , Ogbomoso Progressive Committee of Friends and Ogbomoso Community Development Association, Ogbomoso Parapo and others
