It is exactly 16 years when he was sworn in as the governor of Oyo stTe following the impeachment of his boss Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja

On Jan 12 2005 the Ogbomoso born retired Policeman who was deputy to Senator Rasheed Ladoja was inaugurated as the Governor and he governed for eleven month before court removed him and later elected in 2007.

Otunba Alao Akala’s last moment did not give any sign that death was knocking as he held meeting with people last night in Ogbomoso after he returned from Abuja where he had gone to attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the former House of Reps Majority Leader Hon Mulikat Akande Adeola last Saturday.
