In a solemn yet spirited convergence that echoed through the hills of Oke-Ogun, over 300 Islamic scholars, community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents gathered on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the country home of Amofin Beulah Adeoye in Ipapo, Itesiwaju Local Government Area, for an extraordinary prayer session dedicated to the peace and progress of Oyo State.

At the heart of the gathering was the complete recitation of the Holy Qur’an — a sacred spiritual undertaking symbolizing purification, divine guidance, and collective supplication.
The verses, passionately rendered by devoted clerics, served as prayers for the prosperity of Governor Seyi Makinde, the people of Oyo State, and the continued harmony of the Oke-Ogun region.
The historic event was convened under the auspices of the Oke-Ogun League of Imams and Alfas, a respected assembly of Islamic scholars representing the 10 local government areas of Oke-Ogun.
The gathering, led by the Eleyinpo of Ipapo, His Royal Majesty Oba Yekeen Adisa Abioye, turned the quiet town of Ipapo into a spiritual hub where faith met civic duty.
Oba Abioye, in his remarks, commended Amofin Beulah Adeoye for his unwavering service to humanity, transcending religious and ethnic boundaries. “He is not merely a son of Oke-Ogun,” the monarch declared, “but a vessel of goodwill — steadfast in his love for this land, and tireless in service to all people, regardless of creed.”
Chief Host, Imam Muftau Sodiq Dangajia, welcomed the clerics and dignitaries and urged continued efforts toward peace, unity, and interfaith cooperation. He emphasized the crucial role of spiritual leadership in building a society anchored in justice, compassion, and mutual respect.
Also present at the event were notable Islamic leaders, including:
Alhaji Rasheed Ako, Chairman, Muslim Community of Itesiwaju LGA, who lauded Adeoye’s quiet but impactful philanthropy.
Sheikh Abdul Rafiu Mohamed Jamiu Oloko (Badru Zaman Atewogba I, Saki), who delivered a powerful sermon, describing the event as “an altar of renewal for Oyo State’s collective soul.”
Alhaji Uthman, Mufassir of Ipapoland, who led the final prayer session with heartfelt supplications for the continued guidance and success of Governor Makinde, the prosperity of Oyo State, and blessings for the host and his family.
Visibly moved by the overwhelming support and presence of traditional and spiritual leaders, Amofin Beulah Adeoye expressed deep gratitude. “Today,” he said, “we did not gather for man, but for mercy. We are gathered for spiritual alignment with God’s will. May our prayers rise like incense, and may our beloved Oyo State prosper under heaven’s hand.”
The prayer session, marked by unity and solemnity, sent a clear message: that the strength of Oyo State lies not only in governance or infrastructure but in the enduring prayers and goodwill of its people.
As the Qur’anic recitation concluded and the sun set behind the tranquil Ipapo hills, a sense of peace and renewed purpose lingered — a powerful reminder that collective faith and unity remain the pillars of a thriving society.
