Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 has called on politicians of different ideological persuasions who are struggling for power to do good to Nigerians.
The frontline monarch gave this plea when he received a People’s Democratic Party, PDP Chairmanship aspirant, Prof Taoheed Adedoja today, Sunday in his Popoyemoja, Ibadan Palace.
Olubadan in a statement signed by Adeola Oloko. His media adviser said “I am not a politician, I am a monarch. The doors of Olubadan palace are wide open to all-irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliations. But, as a monarch, I know where the shoe pinches.
This palace is daily inundated with requests for financial assistance. And as a human being, there is a limit to which we can help the needy.”
He then charges the politicians to come up with more of social programmes such as N-Power to cater for more people in the society. Noting that Prof. Adedoja is a true son of Ibadan land with a variety of public service experience, as Minister of Special Duties and Sport, Commissioner of Education at the State level, Chairman of the Oyo state Basic Education Board, SUBEB, the Olubadan then prayed to God to help the Prof. in fulfilling his heart’s desire of leading the PDP.
The first class monarch particularly expressed very deep appreciation of the members of the royal household to the academic for the role he played as Chairman, Olubadan Advisory Committee which joined hand with well-meaning people to give Kabiyesi a befitting coronation on March 4-5, 2016.
