Nigeria’s Second Republic President Alhaji Shehu Sagari  is dead

He was aged 93.

Shagari who ruled  Nigeria between 1979–1983),died during a brief illness at the National hospital in Abuja

Shagari, became president after General Olusegun Obasanjo, then a military head, handed over power to him(a transition from military to civilian rule) but his administration was toppled by General Muhammadu Buhari(now President) in 1983.

His grand son, Bello Shagari, the president of the National youth council of Nigeria, NYCN, made the announcement via his Twitter handle on Friday.
