The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, is scheduled to pay a historic visit to the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

The much-anticipated visit is expected to further strengthen the cultural and historical bond between the two ancient Yoruba cities—Oyo and Iwo.

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Oluwo, Alli Ibraheem, the visit is described as a symbol of enduring unity and royal brotherhood between the two revered traditional institutions.

“The royal affinity between the two stools is strong, and both monarchs are committed to preserving and deepening this historic relationship,” the statement read.
