Activities for the celebration of 47th coronation anniversary of His Imperial Majesty Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi was concluded on sunday in Oyo with a thankagiven services at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Cathedral in Oyo.
The celebration which started on friday continued on saturday with the installation of Otunba Gani Adams as the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland
Bishopof Oyo Diocese Emanuel Badejo in his sermon said Alaafin’s reign has has recorded remarkable developmental strides in the historical town of Oyo and the state at large
“Kabiesi exemplified himself by humbling himself before God and dedicate his life to service to humanity”
While congratulating the king for witnessing another year , Bishop Badejo urge him to continue to use his influence to promote peace and progress in Yorubalnd and Nigeria at large
“Please help us to appeal to politicians and people at the helms of affairs to let peace reign during the election and render genuine service to the country, the growth of this country requires our combined effort’
Bishop Badejo also appeal to religion extremists and thier financial to allow peace to stop the senseless killing of innocent people, the effect of blood shedding is enormous ,we should guie against it and put an end to it’
Alaafin in his remark thanks the traditional rulers for supporting him and urge them not to desist from correcting him whenever he seems to be going astray.
He said further that ‘ i have listen to Bishop’s sermon and we will take to your words and take actions
Archbsihop Ayo Ladigbolu, the chairman anniversary committee in his brief remark thanks the catholic church for supporting the Monarch
Alaafin was accompanied to the church by his wife and children, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Aare Gani Adams,Traditional rulers among others.
