The Ajimobi family has been thrown into mourning following the death of Bisola Kola-Daisi, the first child of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
She passed away at the age of 42 after a brief illness in the United Kingdom.
The news of her death, which broke in the early hours of Thursday, March 27, 2025, has sent shockwaves through political and business circles, where she was a well-known figure.
Bisola was a prominent entrepreneur in Nigeria’s luxury retail industry and served as the Managing Director of Grandex Nigeria Ltd., a leading FMCG retail and wholesale chain established in 1984. She was also the founder of Florence H. Luxury boutique, carving a niche for herself in a male-dominated industry.
Beyond business, she played a role in public service as a special adviser to Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu. She was widely regarded as a passionate advocate for economic development and women’s empowerment.
Married to Ibadan-born politician and bank executive Kolapo Kola-Daisi, Bisola was a devoted mother of three. Her husband, mourning her loss, described her as “a shining star” whose legacy would live on through their children.
