Rotary club empower disabled cobbler, inaugurates new president
Rotary club of Agodi at the weekend donated smoothing machine and other equipments to Michael Anyawu a cobbler in Ibadan
Just as it inaugurates Rotarian Barrister Kazeem Adebowale Oladepo as the new president for the club which is under district 9125.
The beneficiary had in April 2017 wrote the organization seeing financial and material support to boost his business and he got donation of equipment worth about N50.000. 000 from Rotary.
The community service Director Engr. Gbenga Adeleye said the gesture is one of the way through which Rotary club supports the needy and contribute to the community
Barrister Oladepo in his acceptance speech said ” As a rotary president of Agodi Ibadan, my strategic area of focus will be perfectly tailored along with the Rotary international strategic priorities”
” This will be anchored on making a difference in my community and across the globe by striving hard to solve various global humanitarian challenges such as promoting peace, fighting diseases, providing clean water, saving mother and children, supporting education, promoting environmental hygiene among others ”
“I intend to make positive impact on our community in this Rotary year by working together with my club members, involve them and engage their unique skills and interests”.
The outgoing president of the club Chief Dapo Williams said he enjoyed the cooperation and support of members of the club during his term promise to ensure the success of his successor.
The chairman of the occasion Engineer Rauf Olaniyan in his opening remark urge people that privilege people in the society to continue to help the less privilege and advise Rotary family to not to relent in their humanitarian services to the people
