Oba Khalid Olabisi, Oyedepo 111, the Oke of Saki today distruted food items and other relief materials worth N5million to aged and less priviledge in his Saki and its environs.
The foremost monarch was among the first set of Nigerians that distributed relief materials to people to cushion the effect of stay at home order in order to prevent coronavirus pandemic
A statement from the palace of the traditional ruler said that the items were meant to provide succour for the needy and vulnerable and help them withstand the difficulty of the time.
According to Oba Khalid, the initiative was also aimed at supporting the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo in dealing with the pandemic and the attendant hardship it had brought on the people.
The monarch while acknowledging the efforts of a committee established to oversee the equitable distribution of the items to the people, said the support of illustrious sons and daughters of Saki in making the project a reality was appreciated.
He urged people to stay safe by maintaining social distance and look ensuring hygienic life
” We can only help to prevent the virus by staying safe through regular washing of hands and keeping distance, as welll as reporting any suspected victims to the appropriate agencies
Oba Olabisi commended Engineer Seyi Makinde and the state task force on COVID -19 and urges them to put in place necessary facilities to that will enhance quick response in case of any emergency
Also the mornach urge muslim faithful to use the Ramadan period to pray to almighty Allah for forgiveness of Sins and eradication of the pandemic from the land
“In a time like this all we need is prayer and thank God Ramadan period is a season of prayer, we need to appease to God and pray for his protection over us and the Nation at large.
