The management of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa on monday reel out programs of activities for the combined maiden convocation of the institution
Dr Gbade Akinteye the institution’ s Acting Rector said the six event which started on Friday 12th May with Juma’t service will end on Friday 19th May 2023
Speaking at a press conference held to usher in the event, Akinteye said other activities lined up for the week long activities include Environmental Sanitation/ Funfair Day on Wednesday while convocation lecture which would be delivered by Dr Festus Adedayo is fixed for Thursday 18th May.
On Friday, the institution’s visitor Governor ‘Seyi Makinde is expected to lay the foundation of Alumni National secretariat before the commencement of the convocation proper.
Akinteye maintained that the grand finale shall witnessed award of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates to over 8,000 deserving graduands from 2015 to 2021 and presentation of prizes and conferement of honors on some selected dignitaries for their contributions to the institution on Friday.
Speaking on why they combined 2015- 2021 set, the rector said the priority of the managent was to stabilize the school which was granted autonomy in 2014. “Though the institution has witnessed alot of challenges in the last nine years of it’s autonomy but always come out better and stronger”
He maintained that despite the challenges, the institution still boast of some humble achievements which include uninterrupted academic calendar in the last three years, prompt processing of semester result, and accreditation of more programmes among others.
“Presently, the institution offers wide array of ND and HND programmes including Daily Part Time Programmes (DPT) across four faculties, all these programmes have been accredited and listed on JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) compare to previous session.”
“We achieved a 26 percent increase in the enrolment of students for ND and HND and DPT programmes, this is an attestation to the fact that our institution is becoming more attractive to students.”
He however thanked the governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his support for the institution and love for education.
Principal officers of the school at the event include: the Deputy Rector of the institution, Mr. Asimiyu Oladeji, the Acting Registrar of the institution, Mr Dele Oladipo, the Bursar, Mr Segun Oladipo and the chairman, Committee of Deans, Mr Asimiyu Adeshina among others
