Promises Workers’ Welfare, Education, Investment and Youth Development

A massive crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, particularly youths, on Wednesday welcomed the party’s Oyo State Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hon. Adesoji Adedeji, to Saki and Ogbomoso as the party intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adedeji, who was accompanied by party leaders and other members of his entourage, addressed enthusiastic supporters at the Saki City Hall and Soun Ogunlola Town Hall in Ogbomoso.
The engagements, organised under the theme, “Building APC Youths for Electoral Success in Oyo State,” focused on strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and encouraging greater participation of young people in its mobilisation activities.
Political and solidarity songs rented the air as APC members, stakeholders and supporters from the two areas gathered to receive the deputy governorship candidate and discuss strategies for expanding the party’s grassroots presence across the state.
Speaking at the gatherings, Adedeji appreciated party leaders and members for their support, while urging APC youths to take an active role in grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
He stressed the importance of strengthening the party’s presence beyond Ibadan, noting that Ogbomoso, Oyo, Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun were critical components of the state whose interests should receive adequate attention in both political and development planning.
Adedeji called for unity among party members, likening the strength of the APC to a forest.
“A single tree cannot make a forest,” he said, urging members across the various zones to work together towards the success of the party.
The deputy governorship candidate also outlined some of the policy priorities of the Alli-Soji ticket, including a functional local government system, workers’ welfare, education, youth development and investment.
He said education and youth development would receive particular attention because of their importance to human capital development and the future prosperity of the state.
On investment, Adedeji said an APC administration would intensify efforts to attract investors to Oyo State, with the objective of expanding economic activities, creating employment and business opportunities and improving the living conditions of residents.
He also pledged greater attention to workers’ welfare, including the payment of salaries, allowances, gratuities and pensions, describing workers’ welfare as an important component of the proposed Oyo AHEAD agenda.
The deputy governorship candidate’s remarks add to previous statements by the APC ticket on priorities such as infrastructure, healthcare and agriculture.
Speaking at the event, APC candidate for Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, commended the party’s leadership and youth members for their commitment to strengthening the party.
Alao-Akala urged members to remain united and sustain their mobilisation efforts ahead of the elections.
The APC Youth Leader, Remi Adepoju, also assured the gathering that the youth wing was ready to intensify its mobilisation activities, while appealing to party leaders to continue supporting young members.
Other speakers expressed support for the Alli-Soji ticket and called for increased mobilisation across communities in Oyo State.
The programme also featured a minute of silence in honour of the late former Oyo State Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, followed by special prayers.
Among those present were Hon. Odedunmi Bunmi Olubukunmi, Hon. Glory Olalekan, Hon. Sayo Ifatoki, Alhaji Wasiu Olukan and Hon. Ajagbe Ibrahim, alongside other APC leaders, women leaders and members of the City Boys Movement.
Earlier in Saki, Adedeji paid a courtesy visit to the Olere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi, as part of his engagements with traditional and community stakeholders.
The Saki and Ogbomoso visits form part of the APC’s ongoing grassroots engagement aimed at strengthening its structures and increasing youth participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
