Abducted Oyo APC Chieftain Wale Oriade  Regains Freedom

An abducted chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Saheed Adewale Oriade, has regained his freedom after spending 39 days in the custody of his abductors.

Oriade, an APC youth leader, was abducted on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his office located within PJ Square Shopping Complex, beside NNPC Elewure, Iyana Ajanla, Akala Expressway, New Garage area of Ibadan.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants arrived at the scene in a blue Micra vehicle with two occupants — a driver and an armed gunman. The gunman was said to have forcibly seized Oriade before whisking him away in the same vehicle.

Multiple sources confirmed that Oriade regained his freedom in the early hours of Saturday, January 10, under circumstances that are yet to be made public.

As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding his release, including whether a ransom was paid, remain sketchy. Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the development.
