“Initially, I was skeptical about a pastor becoming king, but Oba Ghandi Olaoye has proven his commitment to strengthening the traditional institution,” Adams said. “His efforts in uniting Ogbomoso and connecting with other Yoruba monarchs are highly commendable. He must not relent.”

Adams also expressed joy over Ogbomoso’s renewed focus on its cultural heritage. He highlighted the town’s pivotal role in Yoruba history, noting its significance in the Oyo Empire as a city of warriors and a producer of three Aare Ona Kakanfos, two of whom were also Souns.
