The Ogun State Government has announced the constitution of an Administrative Body to oversee the affairs of Ijebu Ode during the transition period, pending the installation of a new Awujale.
According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the move is in line with the traditional governance structure of Ijebu Ode and is aimed at ensuring stability, continuity, and respect for the revered customs of the town.
The body, chaired by Chief Folorunso Sunny Kuku (Ilamuren), has Chief Oluwaranti Lekan Osifeso (Madassa) as Secretary, with other members drawn from the Ilamuren, Pampa, and Gbeden sections of Ijebu Ode.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to preserving peace, harmony, and cultural heritage in Ijebu Ode during the transition. He also appealed to indigenes of Ijebu land, both at home and abroad, to rally support for the administrative body.
The government urged residents to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and cooperative, stressing that the process will be guided by transparency, inclusiveness, and a deep respect for the cherished traditions of the Ijebu people.
