The United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in office and passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of Dr. Umar Abdulahi Ganduje, CON.
This was made known at a dinner hosted by the APC UK chapter in London on Sunday, where all chapter executives were present. During the event, the chapter’s Secretary, Dr. Momoh Obaro, formally presented two letters on behalf of the UK APC Chairman, Hon. Tunde Doherty, to the party’s leadership in Nigeria.
“One of the letters is calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in office,” Obaro said, “while the other passed a vote of confidence in the NWC led by Dr. Ganduje.”
The letters were received by the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, PhD, who was accompanied by other high-ranking party officials including the National Legal Adviser, Prof. Abdulkareem Abubakar Kana, SAN; Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, Mallam Muhammed Garba; and Professor Ademola Abass, Director of Administration at The Progressive Institute.
Commending President Tinubu’s administration, Obaro said, “The Renewed Hope Agenda is working. We believe in it, and we are very positive that Nigeria is already on a path of progress and national recovery.”
In his remarks, Senator Basiru lauded the UK chapter’s political engagement, integrity, and steadfast commitment to the progress of the APC, both at home and abroad. He assured the diaspora party members of continuous collaboration and support from the party’s national leadership.
Basiru highlighted some key achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, including improvements in the economy, public infrastructure, healthcare delivery, a student loan initiative for tertiary institutions, offsetting International Monetary Fund (IMF) debts, and increased foreign reserves.
The APC UK chapter also expressed its full support for Senator Basiru’s political ambition to govern Osun State, describing him as a capable leader with the experience and vision to deliver good governance. The chapter pledged prayers and support for the success of his gubernatorial bid.
