The Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport recorded a historic milestone on friday 7th February 2025 as the first commercial flight landed at the facility.
The aircraft, operated by Rano Air, departed from Abuja at 4:25 PM and touched down in Ado Ekiti at 5:10 PM.
Among the passengers on board was former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, along with other dignitaries.
Recall that the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority in December granted the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport in Ado Ekiti, approval to commence non-scheduled flight operations beginning from December 15, 2024.
The NCAA Acting Director-General, Capt. Chris Najomo, clarified in the letter that the approval covers non-scheduled operations under Visual Flight Rules for six months, from December 15, 2024, to June 15, 2025
Also the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, visited the airport to assess its progress. During his visit, Keyamo praised the construction quality, describing the runway as one of the best in Nigeria
