Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye has hammered the roles of Alumni in building a formidable University. Kabiyesi stated this when he played host to Mr. Kola Amole, Chairman, and members of the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Governing Council Sub-Committee on Donors and Investors at his Ogbomoso palace.
The first class monarch who expressed delight in the Council Committee, spoke extensively on the importance of alumni in institutional advancement. According to His Imperial Majesty, “Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo is an institution of rich history and I am fully aware that the institution has turned out thousands of successful alumni. I am therefore convinced that if the population is well tapped, it would surely become blessings for the age-long teacher training institution”. He further added that he shall contribute his own personal quota into the endowment of the University.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee and the Alumni National President, Mr. Kola Amole thanked Kabiyesi for his show of love and quick approval of the visit. According to him, “Kabiyesi, we are here today to pay homage to you while we are equally using this opportunity to plead that you come to the aid of our foremost teacher training institution in Nigeria. Our University has witnessed so many transformations leading to change of name at one time or the other. The Alumni body which I am privileged to head is therefore working in tune with your advice and we are happy to say that we are coming out in a more formidable way for the benefit of our school. However, we need you as our father who has seen it all. We need your blessings, network and your inputs to position our institution towards meeting up with the challenges of the 21st century and beyond. May God Almighty continue to strengthen you more in your services to humanity, Kabiyesi.”
