One hundred and ninety (190) Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reportedly been deported, according to the Nigerian government.
According to the report, a combined team of government officials headed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) welcomed the returnees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Tuesday around 5:45 am.
The returnees were profiled and documented by the appropriate agencies and sensitised to behave with decorum and responsibility upon their return to Nigeria, according to a statement signed by Bashir Idris Garga, NEMA Director, North Central Zone.
The brief statement went on, “Wherever they may be, the federal government urges all Nigerians to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, upholding the fundamental values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity.”
