Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and other senior government officials in Helicopter crash on Sunday.

President Raisi’s helicopter was completely burned in the crash which occured in a remote area in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province and it was reported that all passengers are feared dead.

The crash it was gathered was caused by bad weather.

Red Crescent says it has found “no signs of the helicopter’s occupants being alive” at the crash site.

Reuters has also reported that the helicopter was “completely burned” in the crash, citing an Iranian official.

“President Raisi’s helicopter was completely burned in the crash… unfortunately, all passengers are feared dead,” the official said.

Drone footage of the wreckage taken by the Red Crescent and carried on state media FARS News Agency showed the crash site on a steep, wooded hillside, with little remaining of the helicopter beyond a blue and white tail.

The 63 Years old Ebrahim Raisi succeeded the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the highest authority in Iran.

He first ran for the presidency in 2017 but failed and was eventually elected in 2021
