The upcoming visit of Tourism Minister Mrs Lola Ade John has sparked a wave of solidarity and assistance for the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development.
Today, a consortium of medical professionals and NGOs expressed their solidarity through a courtesy visit, aligning with the Minister’s visit and the forthcoming Hike Ekiti Mountain Tourism Carnival, jointly organized by the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development and Discover Ekiti Tourism Club.
Among the distinguished members was Dr Charles Doerthy from Ekiti State Health Insurance (EKSHIS), Dr Adewole Osilade representing Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), and Dr Dairo Ojo from the State Agency for the Control of AIDS (SACA), alongside Okoh Felix and Babalogbon Yinka.
These organizations not only pledged their attendance at the event but also committed to:
– Setting up a stand at the venue to offer free HIV/AIDS tests and distribute condoms to participants.
– Establishing centres around Ado-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun for free malaria testing and treatment.
– Providing pep talks and training sessions for tour guide trainees at the Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort on Sunday.
Dr Adewole Osilade of ECEWS underscored their dedication by generously donating three thousand protective bags, which will be distributed free of charge to event participants.
