The newly installed Soun of Ogbomoso Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege has said his vision for a prosperous and peaceful Ogbomosho Land rests on a detailed 25-year plan which will be unveiled soon.
Oba Olaoye , the 21st Soun who was presented staff and Instruments of Office by Oyo state Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde on Tuesday also express his readines to build on the achievements of the immediate past Soun of Ogbomoso Oba Oladuni Oyewumi, Soun Ajagungbade 111 to take Ogbomoso to dizzying heights in no distant future.
The monarch in his speech disclosed that his vision for a prosperous and peaceful Ogbomosho Land rests on a detailed 25-year plan, to be unveiled in the coming months. “I promise to serve this vision with all I have, the relationships I have built over the years here in Nigeria and abroad, the experience I have garnered from running several successful
businesses, and the skills garnered from more than 30 years of pastoring
churches and other pastors.”

While thanking Governor Makinde for the for graciously assenting his selection as the Soun of Ogbomoso Land by the kingmakers. healso thank him sincerely for coming to personally present this Staff of the Office to him.
” To the Kingmakers led by High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin, the Aare Ago of Ogbomoso Land, I especially recognise and praise your resoluteness, courage and determination in ensuring that the selection process that produced me as Soun was thorough, credible and fair.
“To my brothers who contested the stool with me, let us put the past behind us and forge ahead. There can only be one Soun at a time, and God gives it to whoever pleases Him. By the grace of God, this time, I am the chosen one that He has given the stool of Soun, and I appeal to you all to please join hands with me to further positively project the good name of the Olaoye family for the benefit of the Ogbomoso Land and humanity in general.”

Makinde, while delivering his speech after presenting Instrument of Office and Staff of Office to Oba Olaoye at Ogbomoso township stadium, said, “By now we should put behind us the issue of litigation. I hope before the end of next week, all the cases pending at various courts on the enthronement of Soun of Ogbomosoland will be withdrawn.
“However, if the litigants fail to heed the calls, I will not hesitate to use the instrument of office to fight back. I pray that the scenario that played out in one of the communities in this state when a suit lingered for 20 years and the king was subsequently removed from the throne will not happen in Ogbomoso. We pray that such a thing will not happen in Ogbomosoland,” the governor stated.
Secretary General of the Federation, Senator George Akume, former Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Osun state Govenor Ademola Adeleke, Dr Saka Balogun Kwara state Deputy Governor Mr Kayode Alabi in their goodwill messages descried Oba Ghandi as a credible person whose reign will usher in more development to Ogbomosoland and its people.
Among the dignitaries at the presentation included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja III, Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, immediate past Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, former Minister of Information, Lai Muhammed, Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Owa Oboku of Ijeshaland, Oba Dokun Abolarin Orangun of Oke Ila, and other traditional rulers accross yorubaland.
