A Nigerian male chief Prince Tope Adebayo better known as Tope Maggie has said he would bring back Guiness World Record Certificate in longest cooking hours( individual)back to Nigeria this month.
Chef Tope who is starting his 200hours cooking marathon on 9th of November in Ogbomoso,Oyo state said he is optimistic of beating the past records to win the award.
An Irish chef Alan Fisher is the leading chef with longest cooking marathon title
Fisher, an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, broke two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles.
He claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.
Hilda, a 26-year-old chef was on Tuesday, June 13, officially declared the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon after
she cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours but almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
The Ogbomoso born chef ,tope Adebayo while speaking with journalists on the preparation for his marathon said ” I am ready to do it, i have the capacity to embark on the marathon and by the Grace of God with the support of my people and fans worldwide, i will do it”
