A former House of Representatives member from Oyo State, Honourable Kola Olabiyi, has described President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Dr Zacch Adedeji as chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as not only proper but also fitting for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a congratulatory message signed by him, Olabiyi, who is a chartered accountant with 29-year post-qualification experience in taxation, accounting and management, said Adedeji’s rich background in public finance, taxation and the financial sector generally would enhance the operations of the Service.
“If there is one young man who understands the in and out of public finance and taxation like the back of his hand, it is Zacch Adedeji.
“His exploits at Procter & Gamble, the popular American corporation, announced him to the world as a bright man with a promising future. It was not long before he was tapped from P&G as Finance Commissioner for Oyo State between 2011 and 22015 at the age of 33 years.
“We are grateful to President Tinubu for this appointment and wish to assure him that Dr Adedeji will not let him and the country down as he will discharge the duty of his office excellently. His antecedents speak for him in this regard.” Olabiyi said.
While congratulating Zacch for his well-deserved appointment, he expressed the optimism that FIRS will move up to new heights in greatness under Adedeji.
