A member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Honourable Shina Peller, has facilitated distribution of science laboratory equipment to schools across all the four local governments in his constituency.
The laboratory equipment, which were distributed to ten schools across the constituency on Thursday, included human skeleton models, laboratory pipette magnetic stir bar, bunsen burner, acid, laboratory heater, lab funnels, beaker, base, tube racks, turning fork, IR infrared thermometer, titration paper, glass tongs and others.
The beneficiary schools are Faramora Grammar School, Iseyin, Iseyin District Grammar School, Koso Baptist Grammar School, Iseyin, Progressive Secondary School, Ado-Awaye and ADS High School, Okeho.
Others are Iwa Community Grammar School, Iwere Oke, Muslim Grammar School, Ipapo, Community Grammar School, Otu, Iganna Community Grammar School, Iganna, and Ilupeju Grammar School, Iwere-Ile.
Speaking on the development yesterday, Honourable Peller said via his social media post:
“While I was in Ogbomoso yesterday with the campaign team of my party (Accord), my team was in Iseyin distributing laboratory equipment I facilitated to ten secondary schools across the four local governments that make up my constituency.
“To achieve a satisfactory level of scientific literacy in our society and prepare the next generation of scientists and engineers for the 21st century scientific knowledge, there is need for effective science education in our secondary schools. This informed our decision to equip these schools with science laboratory equipment.”
The distribution of the equipment was done with close supervision of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, which is the agency in charge.
