The Governing Council Chairman of the Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki Barr. Sarafadeen Onijo has commenced reconstruction of Oke-oro bridge in Saki West local government
He also donated cash and plastic buckets to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) general meeting in Saki West.
The damaged briged has posed threats to commuter over the years
while flagging off the reconstruction of the bridge on Tuesday the legal luminary said “It’s not everything that the community will be waiting for the government to rescue them from, there’s nothing bad for everyone of us to also help the government to ease the things for them as it will serve as our civic responsibility.”
“Two years ago the bridge collapsed and I took it upon myself to help the community to construct the bridge and to God be the glory we are here for reconstruction again when the bridge collapse due to the heavy loads trucks passing through the bridge.” He said.
He added that “This is not the very first one that I have been doing, have done similar thing in Darul Salam even before I was appointed as the Chairman Governing council of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki and I will continue to do more.”
He furthered by giving kudos to Governor Seyi Makinde for the job well done in the state and also thanks him for being a listening Governor, he prayed that the second term we surely be an easy ride for Seyi Makinde by Allahs grace. He concluded.
While appreciating Barrister Onijo, Chief Amzat Lawal Ishola who is Ajiroba of Saki said “With the reconstruction of the new, standard bridge, the residents and passersby will finally experience relief.”
Also the vice chairman of Oke oro community showered encomium on Barrister Onijo and pray for him that he will succeed in all his endeavour.
Another community stakeholder who spoke on behalf of the community expressed their gratitude for the thoughtfulness and very delight on the pace of work
While appreciating Onijo for his philanthropic contributions to the party, the chairman of the PDP Saki West chapter, Alhaji Wasiu Ayesoro, said,
“This is really commendable, and we must thank Barrister for having the interest of the party in his mind and also taking the welfare of the party into cognizance.”
He further described the action as thoughtful and time-bound, and he implores the party members to continue supporting him in their prayers.
Also, Adewale Khadijat added that this is uncommon among the party appointees to value the welfare of the people and support them always like Onijo did. She appreciates him and prays for the best.
After the meeting, 30 plastic buckets each were donated to the 11 wards in Saki west which is calculated to be over 300 while 25 pieces were given to the party executive
