Contrary to the speculations that there may be another congres of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state the Chairman Congress Committee of Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC), Gambo Lawan has said that the National body of the party has did not cancel the Saturday 30th, October Congress in Oyo state.
Recalled that a Congress was conducted on Saturday in Ibadan and a former commissioner for lands Hon Ajiboye Omodewu’s nomination was affirmed
Though majority of the stakeholders in the Party did not partake in the congress as they called for cancellation of the processes over falsification of delegates list
He said the National body of the party only called for reconciliation among the warring parties, thus, invited all stakeholders, leaders and gladiators to a meeting on Thursday.
Speaking with journalists on Tuesday evening, Gambo said the National Headquarters of APC under the caretaker chairmanship Governor Mai Buni only directed him to invite all the aggrieved parties to Abuja on Thursday to resolve all the grey areas, noting that the Congress of Saturday stays.
There has been unconfirmed news over the nullification decision of the National Headquarters APC under the caretaker chairmanship of His Excellency, Gov. Mai Buni.
According to Gambo, “There was nothing like cancellation or nullification but reconciliation among aggrieved parties. The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee Chairman, Governor Mai Buni only asked me to invite all the aggrieved parties to Abuja on Thursday to come and lay their complain.
“Nothing like new Congress, the Saturday 30th Congress stays, it was monitored by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant agencies. This is family affairs and it would be resolve amicably.
“The most important thing is that there is no new Congress, all members of the APC should remain calm, all the grey areas would be resolved by the leadership of Caretaker Committee/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee”.
