Following Governor Makinde’s approval on the re-opening of Oyo State-owned Tertiary Institutions and Private Tertiary Institutions in the State for regular academic activities, heads of State-owned and of Private Tertiary Institutions in Oyo State have been directed to consider e-Learning option as part of teaching method
Governor Makinde recently approved that academic activities should commences on Monday, 28th September, 2020.
In a circular letter signed by the state commissioner for Education, science and Technology Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Institutions should ensure not more than 50% lecture room population capacity.
The circular reads further that Institutions are to organize training for students and lecturers before resumption and ensure community sensitization on the prevention of spread of corona virus.
Also the Institution should create a Hold-on Room to handle/manage emergencies and set up Committees to monitor compliance with COVID-19 guidelines within and outside the Institutions.
“Each Institution should mandatorily appoint COVID-19 Task Force that will work directly with the health Institutions created for the purpose in each zone and link their activities with the State COVID-19 team.”
