The youths from Ibarapa zone of Oyo State applauded the outstanding leadership skill displayed by Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin as the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly for a year.
The socio-political group under the umbrella of Ibarapa Youths Vanguard in a statement signed by its General Secretary, Ogunjimi Sunday noted that the 9th assembly has recorded enviable legislative successes under the leadership of the 33year old Ogundoyin.
Ogundoyin is the State lawmaker representing Ibarapa East Local Government and son of the late philanthropist, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin.
He was unanimously voted in by other 31 State lawmakers on the 10th of June, 2019, which made him the youngest Speaker in the history of the State and of course Nigeria.
According to the statement, passing a vote of confidence on the Speaker for leading a crisis free assembly in a politically vibrant State like Oyo is absolutely in order.
He said, “We are proud of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly under the leadership of our own brother Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin. The assembly within a year passed to Establish Investment Promotion Agency, Anti-open grazing Law, anti-corruption agency, Establish Agribusiness Development Agency, the Amotekun law, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Amendment bill and so on.
“These are laws focusing on protecting the people of Oyo State and also improving their lives by providing enabling environment for investment to drive investors and eventually transforming the economy fortune of the State.
“This time last year, we supported Ogundoyin’s Speakership bid and we are happy he did not disappoint us in Ibarapa and he is also make Nigerian youths proud.”
The group therefore commend the impressive work relationship between the Executive and the legislative, adding that it makes governance easier and contribute to the peaceful political atmosphere in the State.
“While appreciating the support the lawmakers are giving both the Speaker and our Governor, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, we call for more cooperation especially on the issue of security in the State.
“We need Amotekun Security Network to take off soon, so the people of Ibarapaland feel safe in their farms and on the roads,” Statement said.
