….. Urges them to be good ambassadors
The Obong Iberedem of Akwa Ibom in Oyo State, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Etim Bassey Akanyak (ARSM) has admonished Akwa Ibom youth leaders in the state to be good ambassadors and ensure they promote peaceful coexistence among others in line with the developmental agenda of governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state.
The monarch gave the admonition during the official installation of Akwa Ibom Youth Leaders who will oversee the activities of Akwa Ibom Youths in their various communities in Ibadan.
The programme was held at the Obong palace in Ibadan.
According to him, what informed the decision of the palace to install the youth leaders was the need to have proper coordination of the youths in various communities in the state and for the progress of the state.
“There is the need to have formidable youth forum in the state which will have a voice and maintain peace and work along the developmental programme of the state government.
The Obong said plans are on to extend same gestures to other parts of the state like the Oke Ogun, Oyo, Ibarapa zone and other so as to complement the objectives of the forum.
Said he, “plans are on going to ensure the achievement of this laudable projects across the state where all Akwa Ibom youths will be represented and be involved in the developmental programmes of of governor Makinde, but we are confronted with logistics and mobility.
“All these efforts are geared towards moving Oyo state forward, he added.”
“This development will help our youths in various communities in the state to maintain law and order, and it will help them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the state.”
The monarch said the Youth Forum under the leadership of Comrade Udoro Efre within a short time discovered some communities, instituted youth structures by proper elections and the elected Leaders were installed for the coordination and progress of the people and the Akwa Ibomites in the state.
The Youth leaders installed were Mr Akan Amos (Sango Community), Mr Godswill Idung (Yemetu), Mr Augustine Edem (Ikolaba), Mr Anietie Etefia (Odo Ona), Mr Ifiok Okoh (Oke Ado), Mr Akan Dominic (Bodija/Ashi). Others were Mr Solomon David (Old Ife Road/Iwo Road) and Mr Moses Bassey(Ile Tuntun/Elenusoso). Also installed were the State Youth Officers, Comrade Udoro Efre, Leader; Mr James Okoh, Deputy Leader; UtibeAbasi Umoren, Secretary and Mr Uduak Edoho as Treasurer.
