A federal Lawmaker representing Ibadan North federal constituency at the National Assembly today in Ibadan boasted that he is going to succeed Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the executive governor of the state in 2019
Awoleye , a chieftain of the All progressives Congress APC, while responding to questions from journalists at a breakfast media chart organized by South West Group of Online Publishers SWEGOP in Ibadan said he is the only aspirant people can entrust their mandate with.
As a lawmaker, my record and achievements are there to speak for me, apart from the fact that so many people in the state have been calling me since 2015 to contest for the governorship and I have made my intention known that I will throw my hat into the rings and I am optimistic that Ajimobi will hand over to me in 2019.
Speaking on the clamouring for an Oke Ogun erson to be governor in 2019, Awoleye said there is no where it was written or agreed that the position to be zone to any particularly region, anybody from any part of the state that is qualify to contest can contest ,I am aware that there are some people from that region who are also interested in the race but what determines who will be the next governor is not where he comes from but his, antecedent, quality and programs
He maintained further that “ I have a lot of supporters in Oke Ogun and other zones and I will ensure equity in my government, I will make sure that they all have fair share in allocation of infrastructures and other things that will enhance development”
My government will focus more on vocational training, self employment, agriculture and tourism and with the executive- legislative relationship experience that I have had over the years i am sure it will be easy.

When asked to score Senator Ajimobi’s administration in the past six year, Awoleye said the governor have done fairly well , expressing satisfaction in some of the developmental strides of the government with optimism that he will use the next two years to do more for the people
“ My governor meant well for Oyo state and he has been trying his best in making oyo state to regain his lost glory as reflected in his sobriquet pace setter, when I came on board I will consolidate on what he has achieved and do more for the people of the state and make our great again”
