The oyo south senatorial district consisting of nine local governments in Ibadan municipality and Ibarapa zones have unanimously adopted Engnr Seyi Makinde as their sole candidate for the 2019 gubernatorial election.
At a meeting held at the state party secretariat and attended by notable leaders of oyo south senatorial district, the party said that Seyi Makinde stands the best chance to win the election for the party because of his consistent desire to help the people out of the present crisis in governance and standing out as the most realistic contender.
The motion to adopt him was moved by Hon Remi Ayodele former chairman of Ibadan north west local government and Hon Moses Ojoawo from ibarapa. Both said they were mandated by their constituencies to table the motion which was unanimously adopted by leaders present at the meeting which included Prof Taoheed Adedoja, Alhaja Bose Adedibu, PDP senatorial chairman, Sir Samuel Olawuwo, the state party secretariat Hon Wasiu Adeleke among others.
In his response Engnr Seyi Makinde thanked the leaders and people of the Oyo south senatorial district for the honour and promised to deliver the state from the current misrule.
