Hon Oluwaseun Remi Adeyinka, a former caretaker chairman of Ogbomoso Central LCDA, has joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
After joining the NDC the party rewarded him with the party’s ticket for the House of Assembly Ogbomoso North state constituency.
Recall Hon Adeyinka popularly called Seun Alata contested the same position in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), losing narrowly to the then incumbent, Hon Olawumi Oladeji, defeated narrowly by less than 450 votes.
Seun Alata speaking with newsmen said, he took the decision to decamp due to pressure by his supporters whom he said believe in him.
He expressed belief that his fresh adventure would be fruitful justifying this based on the people’s love for him, which he said was shown him in 2019, when he first contested the same position.
“Yes, it was not easy leaving the APM but in life’s journey, there comes a time when you have to move on. That is the point I reached. It was bigger than me. You know I have a lot of supporters and admirers who believe in what we can do and achieve together. They mounted pressure that we should leave APM to contest the House of Assembly for our constituency on the platform of the NDC, a party that has gained national prominence,” Adeyinka said.
“They know my ability and encouraged me to move on. I have to hearken to them. And so, I have faith they will rally he necessary support for me. But more importantly, I appeal to the people of the constituency to show me love and support, the kind they showed me in 2019, when as a first timer the incumbent defeated me narrowly with 420 votes. It was massive, I really appreciate the love of the people.”
He added, “I urge them to re-enact the scenario and this time to help us accomplish the mission. I live mostly in Ogbomoso, I am homegrown, I have businesses here, I know where the shoes pinches. I know first hand our needs in Ogbomoso North, unlike those who only come home during elections and are unfamiliar with home. I humbly solicit the support of the people of the constituency, my records as caretaker chairman of Ogbomoso Central LCDA also are evident of my commitment to serve and not be served.”
The NDC is gradually gaining momentum in Ogbomoso. Dr Kunle Adegbite, a philanthropist and CEO of Twindad Foundation is gunning for the Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire federal constituency seat on the platform of the party just as a popular candidate, Booda Sunday Adeyemo (BSA) has picked the party’s ticket in Ogbomoso South.
