The Oyo State Labour Veterans Association (OYSLVA) has congratulated Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro on his emergence as the National President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
In a congratulatory statement jointly signed by the association’s President, Veteran Comrade Elijah Olu Abiala, and Secretary, Veteran Comrade Gbenga Obabiyi, OYSLVA described Olabiyi-Agoro’s election as a clear vindication of his commitment and dedication to the welfare and advancement of workers.
The association said his emergence at the national level was a reflection of his distinguished record of service to the labour movement, particularly his tenure as Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Oyo State Council.
According to the veterans, Olabiyi-Agoro’s leadership at the state level demonstrated his character, integrity and commitment to the principles of trade unionism.
The association also commended what it described as his fearless approach to defending workers’ rights, as well as his cordial and peaceful relationships with fellow labour leaders, the two labour centres and civil rights organisations.
OYSLVA said Olabiyi-Agoro deserved his elevation to the highest leadership position in PENGASSAN, having demonstrated the qualities required to provide effective leadership to the association.
The labour veterans prayed for wisdom, strength, good health and greater grace for the new PENGASSAN President as he begins his tenure and takes on the responsibility of serving the association at the national level and contributing to the development of Nigeria.
The statement was signed by Veteran Comrade Elijah Olu Abiala, President, and Veteran Comrade Gbenga Obabiyi, Secretary, on behalf of the Oyo State Labour Veterans Association.
