Olatunji said Adeleke’s victory had demonstrated that the will of the electorate could prevail despite the influence of money, political structures and powerful interests.

In a congratulatory statement, the ADP candidate said the outcome should serve as a wake-up call to politicians and other stakeholders that voters ultimately possess the constitutional power to determine who governs them through their votes.

He said the Osun election, which saw Adeleke emerge victorious amid intense political competition and substantial campaign resources, had shown that elections could still produce outcomes largely determined by the will of the people.

According to him, the development would encourage emerging political leaders and genuine democrats who believe that a strong connection with the electorate, fulfilment of electoral promises, empathy, strategic planning and credible engagement remain critical to electoral success.

“The Osun election is a morale booster for many emerging political leaders and genuine democrats who believe that strong connection with the electorate, fulfilment of electoral promises, empathy, commitment to quality leadership, strategic positioning and credible engagement with the people remain critical to electoral success,” he said.

Olatunji also commended the participation, resilience and determination of Osun voters, saying the election reinforced the principle that every vote must count in determining electoral outcomes.

He congratulated Adeleke, the Accord Party, the people of Osun State and Nigerians on what he described as another important milestone in the country’s democratic journey.

The ADP candidate said the outcome had further strengthened his confidence in the possibility of unexpected electoral results in the 2027 general elections.

“This election is a clear confirmation of my sustained position that divine grace, strategic planning, empathy, commitment to the people and purposeful leadership will remain decisive factors in determining electoral success in 2027,” Olatunji said.

He added that several aspirants and candidates currently regarded as political underdogs could spring significant surprises at the polls in 2027.

“I have no doubt that several aspirants and candidates presently regarded as underdogs will spring significant surprises at the polls, to the consternation of many established political names and structures.

“The message from Osun is clear: the people have the power, and when they collectively decide, no amount of money, influence or political might can permanently suppress their will.”

Olatunji urged political leaders and aspirants across the country to reconnect genuinely with the electorate, focus on issues affecting the people and approach the 2027 elections with humility, accountability and renewed commitment to democratic values.
