The former Oyo State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement (CBM), Chief Ahmed Ajibola, popularly known as General K, has resigned from the political support group, days after he was removed from office over allegations of misconduct and insubordination.
In a resignation letter addressed to the National Leadership of the City Boy Movement, Ajibola thanked the organisation for the opportunity to serve as the Oyo State Coordinator, describing the position as an honour and a privilege.
He disclosed that following his removal, he was offered fresh appointments as Director of Affairs at the state level and Coordinator for Stakeholder Engagement in the South-West but declined both offers after careful consideration.
Ajibola said his decision to resign was based on principle rather than bitterness, maintaining that leadership should be anchored on fairness, loyalty, transparency, competence and mutual respect.
According to him, recent developments within the Oyo State chapter convinced him that he could no longer continue in good conscience, alleging that certain actions and decisions of the new leadership were inconsistent with the ideals upon which the movement was built.
Despite quitting the organisation, the former coordinator stressed that his resignation should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the achievements of the Tinubu administration, the Renewed Hope Agenda and the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 general election.
Ajibola also expressed appreciation to members who worked with him across Oyo State, commending their loyalty, commitment and sacrifices during his tenure.
However, the City Boy Movement said Ajibola’s exit followed his removal from office after disciplinary proceedings over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination and actions considered detrimental to the interests of the organisation.
The movement said the disciplinary process was initiated following a petition accusing Ajibola of violating its code of conduct.
In a notice dated June 2, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement,
Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Ajibola was accused of making abusive, insulting and derogatory remarks against the national leadership of the organisation, including the Director-General.
The petition also alleged that he made offensive comments about the movement’s patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, and directed derogatory remarks at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He was further accused of insubordination, disrespect for constituted authority, creating division and factionalisation within the Oyo State chapter, challenging a leader of the movement to a physical confrontation and engaging in acts capable of bringing the organisation into disrepute.
The movement had issued him a 48-hour notice to submit a written defence, warning that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation could attract disciplinary sanctions.
Following the conclusion of the disciplinary process, the organisation announced his removal as Oyo State Coordinator.
Meanwhile, the City Boy Movement has appointed Hon. Adewale Oladiti as the new Oyo State Coordinator.
According to his appointment letter dated August 6, 2026, Oladiti’s appointment was based on his commitment to the movement, grassroots mobilisation efforts and readiness to contribute to the organisation’s growth in Oyo State.
The appointment letter also clarified that the State Coordinator reports directly to the Oyo State Director, who remains the principal head and chief coordinating authority of the City Boy Movement in the state
