The Judicial Commission of Enquiry established by the Oyo State Government to investigate the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area has invited members of the public to submit memoranda containing relevant information on the incident.
The invitation was contained in a public notice signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Olamide Sandra Tella, who urged individuals, groups and organisations with useful information to assist the Commission in its assignment.
According to the notice, memoranda should provide relevant facts, evidence and materials relating to the abduction, including the circumstances leading to and surrounding the incident, details of the abduction and subsequent developments, the security situation before, during and after the attack, as well as any acts, omissions or circumstances that may have contributed to the occurrence.
The Commission also requested information on the response of relevant authorities, institutions, communities and individuals to the incident, alongside recommendations on measures that could prevent a recurrence of similar attacks.
The notice stated that all memoranda should contain the full names and contact details of the contributors, together with any supporting documents or materials where applicable.
Submissions should be addressed to the Secretary, Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the Abduction of Students and Teachers in Esinele and Yawota Communities, Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State.
The Commission said memoranda could be submitted physically at its Secretariat located at the Conference Room, Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, or electronically via oysjceoriireabduction@gmail.com.
It added that all submissions must reach the Commission on or before August 14, 2026.
The Oyo State Government had on Friday, July 31, 2026, inaugurated the Judicial Commission of Enquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in the Ahoro Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area.
Governor Seyi Makinde said the Commission was established to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, identify any lapses and recommend measures that would strengthen security and prevent a recurrence of similar attacks across the state.
