The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, has described the safe return of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area as a major relief and a victory for the collective efforts of government and security agencies.
In a statement, Wolekanle as he is foundly called commended Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for his prompt response, resilience, and unwavering determination to ensure the safety of lives and property across the state.
He said the successful rescue reflected the governor’s commitment to protecting residents and tackling insecurity through strategic collaboration with security agencies.
Akinwole also praised the Federal Government for its support throughout the rescue operation, noting that the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders were instrumental to the victims’ safe return.
He specifically commended the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Amotekun Corps, and other security agencies for their professionalism, courage, and sacrifices in securing the release of the abducted pupils and teachers.
According to him, the successful operation demonstrates the importance of intelligence sharing, inter-agency cooperation, and sustained commitment in the fight against kidnapping and other criminal activities.
The LGSC chairman expressed gratitude that the victims had been reunited with their families and prayed for their full physical, emotional, and psychological recovery after their traumatic experience.
He urged residents of Oyo State to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information, stressing that collective vigilance remains essential to sustaining peace and security across the state.
