The Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Seun Oladeji Richard, has convened youth leaders and stakeholders from across Oke-Ogun to mobilise support for the Alliance Peoples Movement (APM) and its governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekambi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The strategic meeting, held on Saturday in Saki, culminated in the inauguration of a new youth-driven political movement known as OKEOGUNYOUTHSUPPORT4BIMBO.
The initiative is aimed at harnessing the numerical strength, energy and political influence of young people across the Oke-Ogun zone to build grassroots support for the APM and its governorship candidate.
No fewer than 10 youth leaders and key stakeholders, representing the 10 local government areas in Oke-Ogun, attended the meeting.
Among the notable participants were the APM Senatorial Youth Leader for Oyo North, Hon. Folawiyo Oladipupo; the Saki West APM Youth Leader, Hon. Oluwaseyi; Mr. Akinola Opeyemi; and Hon. Jamiu Asiri, representing Irepo/Olorunsogo Constituency in the Oyo State Youth Parliament, alongside other youth stakeholders from across the zone.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Oladeji Richard said the movement was established to transform the population and influence of Oke-Ogun youths into a formidable political force ahead of the 2027 elections.
He maintained that young people remain critical to the success of any political movement, stressing that unity and coordinated mobilisation among Oke-Ogun youths would be crucial to the success of the APM.
“Oke-Ogun youths must take ownership of this project. We are forming
OKEOGUNYOUTHSUPPORT4BIMBO to ensure that our votes, our voices and our structures work for a credible candidate who will continue the legacy of good governance started by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde,” he said.
Oladeji added that Bimbo Adekambi represents the ideals of continuity, youth inclusion and sustainable development, which, according to him, are essential for the future progress of Oyo State beyond 2027.
In his remarks, Hon. Folawiyo Oladipupo described the initiative as timely, noting that youths across Oke-Ogun were prepared to support leadership that prioritises youth empowerment, job creation and inclusive governance.
Also speaking, the Saki West APM Youth Leader, Hon. Oluwaseyi, and Hon. Jamiu Asiri of the Oyo State Youth Parliament pledged their commitment to mobilising young people at ward and polling-unit levels.
They assured that the movement would embark on extensive grassroots sensitisation across communities in Oke-Ogun to promote the APM agenda and encourage wider youth participation in the electoral process.
At the end of the meeting, the stakeholders unanimously resolved to commence immediate grassroots sensitisation and voter mobilisation across the 10 local government areas under the OKEOGUNYOUTHSUPPORT4BIMBO platform.
They expressed confidence that through unity, discipline and strategic engagement, Oke-Ogun youths would play a significant role in the political direction of Oyo State in the 2027 general elections.
