In a statement titled “My Oyo Vision: Quality Infrastructure, Transparent Leadership, Accountability and Active Citizen Oversight,” Senator Alli described infrastructure as the backbone of sustainable development.

Alli stressed that roads, schools, hospitals, water facilities and other public assets must serve as strategic investments capable of improving living standards, stimulating economic growth and creating jobs for residents.

The APC governorship candidate maintained that infrastructure projects should not be assessed merely by the number commissioned, but by their quality, durability, safety and long-term economic impact.

He said every kobo of public funds must deliver measurable value to taxpayers, insisting that Oyo people deserve projects executed with the highest standards of professionalism, engineering excellence, transparency and accountability.

Alli further stressed the importance of active citizen oversight in governance, noting that residents must go beyond attending project commissioning ceremonies by demanding transparency and monitoring whether projects conform with approved specifications and budgets.

He called on community leaders, professional bodies, transport unions, market associations, youth groups and civil society organisations to partner with government in monitoring public projects to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery.

The senator also warned that contractors responsible for substandard projects must be held accountable and compelled to correct defects at their own expense, while public officials supervising such projects should equally be transparent and responsible in ensuring compliance with contractual standards.

According to him, his administration would strengthen public procurement processes, institutionalise independent quality assurance mechanisms and align infrastructure investments with long-term development goals aimed at promoting trade, attracting investment, improving connectivity, strengthening security and expanding access to quality social services.

Alli urged residents of the state to remain vigilant and committed to the collective responsibility of building a better Oyo State through responsible leadership, transparent governance and active citizenship.
