Twelve candidates contesting the 2027 Oyo State governorship election have been invited to participate in the Independence Day edition of the Public Square Town Hall Meeting, scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Ibadan.
The programme, organised by Success FM Ibadan, will take place at the Otunba Subomi Balogun Conference Centre, UI Hotels, University of Ibadan, providing an opportunity for citizens and political stakeholders to engage directly with the candidates on issues affecting the state.
According to a statement signed by the General Manager Alhaji Jagunmade Adesina Paj 1, arrival and registration are scheduled for 12 noon to 1 p.m., while the Town Hall Meeting will commence at 1 p.m.
The invited candidates are Hazeem Gbolarumi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Senator Sharafadeen Alli of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM); Chief Adegoboyega Taofeeq Adegoke of the African Democratic Congress (ADC); Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola-Sodo of the Action Alliance (AA); Mr. Sola Kareem of the Labour Party (LP); Mr. Kunle Olatunji of the Action Democratic Party (ADP); Mr. Yusuf Akim Adebola of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC); Oloye Saheed Oladele of the African Action Congress (AAC); Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat of Accord; Mogaji Olusegun Agboola of the Social Democratic Party (SDP); and Dr Yunus Kareem Ayandoye of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
The event is expected to focus on issues surrounding governance, development, the economy, security, education, healthcare and other matters of public interest ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The programme will be broadcast live on Success 105.3 FM, Ibadan, while live streaming will also be available on Success FM Live on Facebook and the station’s other social media platforms.
According to the organisers, admission into the conference hall will be on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available space.
They also disclosed that adequate security arrangements had been made to ensure a safe and orderly programme.
The Independence Day edition is expected to attract citizens, civil society organisations, community leaders, political stakeholders and other members of the public interested in hearing directly from the governorship candidates.
