An aide to the Oyo State Governor, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige has described the life of the late generalissimo of Ibadan politics, High Chief Lamidi Akanbi Ariyibi Adedibu as the one full of good examples of service to humanity.
Hon. Ige who is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State on Culture and Tourism stated this during the 13th remembrance of the death of Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu.
It would be recalled that Chief Lamidi Adedibu died on 11th June, 2008 and was buried on the 12th June, 2008 at his Molete residence.
According to Hon. Ige, “my father, mentor and late political leader, High Chief Akanji Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu of blessed memory lived as a good example in the service to humanity. His character was more like that of an ANGEL, caring for his neighbours in every way he could. His religious uprightness can not be over emphasized judging from his behaviours and dressing that depicts nothing but a beautiful soul and the beaming and contagious smile he wears on his face.”
“His life can be described as well lived though it is a great loss to everyone who has passed through his political tutelage and had an encounter with him during his life time.”
“It matters not how a man dies, but how he lives. 13 years after, Baba Adedibu still lives on but the truth is that we still miss him. May Allah place him in the highest of the ranks of paradise.”
Hon. Ademola Ige who was a one time Chairman of Ibadan South East local government, former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth, Sports and Social Development, former Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, however, thank God that the good name left behind by Chief Adedibu is still being maintained by his widow, Alhaja Modinat Abosede Adedibu, his biological children and some of his political children that went through Molete politics during his lifetime.
