Nigerian new act, Habib Okikiola better known as Portable have been nominated for the 2022 Headies awards.
The organisers of the prestigious award on Tuesday released the list of nominees for the 2022 Headies award which featured this promising act.
The controversial singer, was nominated for ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, along with AV, FAVE, MAGIXX and UGOCCIE which is a voting category for the rookie of the year who has had a successful year musically, with the absence of an album in the year under review.
He was also nominated for the BEST STREET-HOP ARTISTE for his song ZAZOO ZEHH featuring POCO LEE and OLAMIDE. A song for the voting category for the artiste whose songs are inspired by the streets. Such song should captain lingua, which may also be originated by the artiste and popular on the street.
However, he was not nominated for the SONG OF THE YEAR nor the ARTIST OF THE YEAR where acts like AYRA STARR, BNXN, LOJAY, RUGER, ZINOLEESKY were nominated.
Other artistes nominated in different categories includes, OLAMIDE, ADEKUNLE GOLD, BURNA BOY, DAVIDO, FLAVOUR

This edition includes new categories like; Music Executive of the Year; Best Afrobeat Pop Single (Nigeria); Best Afrobeat Pop Album (Nigeria); Best African Collaboration; Best International Collaboration; African Artiste of the Year; and International Artiste of the Year.
