The executive members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ibadan North East Local Government area of Oyo State have told an aspirant for the federal House of Representatives, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige to go ahead with his ambition as he has what it takes to represent the Ibadan South East/Ibadan North East Federal constituency at the National Assembly.

The party executives made their position known at a meeting Hon. Ademola Ige had with the entire local government executives and 12 ward executives in Ibadan North East Local Government held at the their secretariat office, Ode-Aje, Ibadan yesterday.

While welcoming the aspirant and his entourage to the meeting, the party Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Fatoki (a.k.a. Abuye) said Hon. Ademola Ige has very big chance of clinching the party ticket because he has what it takes to represent their federal constituency.

According to him, “your own case is like Commissioners nominee billed to appear before the House of Assembly for screening. Some will be asked to just take a bow and go because of their past records. So, if not because of politics we are supposed to have asked you to take a bow before us and go to show you how happy we are with your aspiration. This is because you have a very good record, we know that you did well as council Chairman, as State lawmaker and at every other positions you have held.

So if you are allowed to represent us at national level we have absolute faith that we are going to enjoy quality representation. You know the terrain and what is due to the party members, the electorates and the generality of the people. The party Chairman enthused.

Also speaking in the same vein, Alhaja Sadia Ayandiran and the party Public Relations Officer (PRO) described Hon. Akeem Ige as politician with vast knowledge about grassroot experience whose candidacy will be widely accepted by the electorates if giving the ticket.

Earlier in his speech, Hon. Ademola Ige had informed the gatherings that the purpose of his visit was to inform the party executives of his intention to represent the Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East federal constituency in the 2023 elections just as he has done in the Ibadan South East Local Government.

He stressed that he was motivated to go ahead with his ambition because of the words of encouragement he received from the various stakeholders and party leaders he had consulted so far.

Hon. Ademola Ige hinted that he is aspiring for the House of Representatives position so as to use his experience to facilitate quality projects and improve the welfare of the people as he has been doing before.

He promised not to be ungrateful or take their support for granted if giving the chance, knowing fully well that from times past, the votes that come from Ibadan North East Local government always determine whoever that will emerge the winner to represent the said federal constituency during the election.
