Ondo State Governor and Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi , SAN, has joined other state Governors under the auspices of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) to welcome former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniels into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They were led by the Governor of Kebbi State and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the host Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (Ogun State).
Other Governors on the train include; Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his Niger State counterpart, Abubakar Sani Bello,
Speaking at the Asoludero Court, Sagamu, Ogun State home of the former Governor, Governor Akeredolu said Otunba Gbenga Daniel was part of the progressives family before he went to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under which platform he governed the gateway state for eight years.
Arakunrin Akeredolu said the PDP was just a vehicle, saying the former Governor has finally come back home.
Assuring him of level playing ground, Governor Akeredolu said the ongoing membership registration and revalidation has put both new and old members on the same platform equally.
He charged the defector to bring together the various factions in the state APC, stressing that there is so much to gain in unity than a divided house.
