A frontline aspirant for the House of Assembly and in Ibarapa central and Ibarapa North state constituency, Hon. Bosun Ibikunle has reacted to the news report credited to Hon. Muraina Ajibola wherein he stated that Bosun Ibikunle was not his loyalist and also described the defection of over 1000 APC members into PDP last sunday in Idere as a ruse.
Bosun Ibikunle in a statement he personally issued and made available to journalists, stated that for clarity sake, he was not a loyalist of Hon. Muraina Ajibola and he has never belonged to his camp as insinuate.
According to the statement, “why will a young man with clear vision and good mission to serve the people like me wants to associate with Hon. Muraina who is already a failed politician?
To put the record straight, Hon. Muraina was a PDP member where he contested and won in 2019 to represent Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North federal constituency. After the 2019 election, he fell apart with PDP leaders and was one of the aggrieved members of his former party until May, 2022 when he formally defected to the APC to seek the party ticket to return to the House of Representatives for the 4th time in the APC.
Hon. Muraina came to the venue of the APC primary election with already doctored delegates’ list. His attempt to use the doctored list was repelled by the authentic party members which led to the disruption of the primary election. Not only that, he was pelted with stones by the irate members and chased away from the election venue.
On my part, I have been a member of the APC and a major financial of the party since 2019 until Hon. Muraina Ajibola defected to the party. He joined the party and destabilized it for his selfish ambition in connivance with the party leaders who doesn’t have conscience and fear of God in Ibarapa central and Ibarapa North local governments.
So when my supporters felt disappointed with the injustice and cheating meted out on me by handing over the ticket to Hon. Muraina to contest for another term without taking into consideration the fact that I had stood by the party through the tick and thin, they advised me to leave the party with assurance to follow me enmasse wherever I go. This is the reason why we joined the PDP and we were formally received by the PDP leaders at an elaborate ceremony in Idere on Sunday 12th June, 2022.
As regards the claim that I only decamped with my sibling, father and aged paternal grand father, this is far from the truth because I was joined by thousands of my supporters and followers. There are pictorials and video evidence to back up this as requested by Hon. Muraina in his publication.
Not only my supporters that decamped to PDP on Sunday 12th June, some key loyalists and ardent supporters of Hon. Muraina who were also the aggrieved PDP members joined us during the ceremony to re-unite with the PDP with hundreds of their followers.
Among them were Pa Busari Tajudeen Vitalo, Pa Babarinde Adejare, Pa Okewole Okeniyi among others. So, I challenge Hon. Muraina to come out and deny these people if they are not his loyalists in Ibarapa central and Ibarapa North local government.
My defection with thousands of my followers has signalled the end of APC in Ibarapa land because we have seen the light which the PDP represents and can never go back to the dark which APC represents. His attempt to force himself on us for the 4th time is already dead on arrival because the Ibarapa people have resolved to speak with one voice and any attempt to force himself on us will be met with stiff resistance.” Hon. Ibikunle fume.
Hon. Bosun Ibikunle, a successful businessman specialising in oil and Gas and real estate businesses has been a foremost philanthropic who has been using his wealth to contribute to the development of Ibarapa land and its people before he ventured into politics. This is the reason why he enjoyed the masses support who rallied round him when he was denied the ticket of the House of Assembly in APC.
