The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, has called on Muslim faithful to extend their service to Almighty Allah and humanity beyond the Ramadan period.
Wolekanle as he is foundly called made this appeal while felicitating with Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing the holy month as a period of spiritual renewal and moral rebirth for believers.
According to him, Ramadan is far more than abstaining from food and drink, noting that it represents a spiritual reset centred on Taqwa (God-consciousness), self-discipline, and empathy for others.
He explained that the sacred month provides an opportunity for deep reflection, increased devotion through prayers, gratitude to Allah, and acts of charity aimed at uplifting the less privileged in society.
The ogbomoso born PDP chieftain urged Muslims to sustain the virtues cultivated during Ramadan, including compassion, generosity, and self-restraint, stressing that these values are essential for building a peaceful and equitable society.
Bashorun Akinwole further encouraged continued prayers for the progress and stability of Oyo State and Nigeria at large, expressing hope that the lessons of Ramadan would inspire greater unity, tolerance, and collective responsibility among citizens.
